Wichita Mountains
About: Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge (WMWR) is one of the best places to climb granite in the DFW area. The hills pop out of nowhere near Fort Sill and the town of Lawton, OK. Without a doubt there is more climbing here than anywhere within 500 miles. A variety of climbing is available including sport, trad, and aid on slab, cracks, and faces. The rock is usually outstanding quality and climbable year-round.
